India vs. New Zealand – ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, 1st Semi-Final – Cricket Betting Tips

July 7, 2019

After more than a month of intense and competitive cricket, we have the four semifinalists for the world cup 2019. These semifinalists are India, Australia, England, and New Zealand. You can safely say that the four best teams playing in the league stages of the world cup have reached the semifinals. India finished at the top of the points table as they thumped Sri Lanka in their final league game. They lost only a single match during the course of the tournament. Australia led the points table most of the time and ended second in the points tally because they lost to South Africa in their last league match. England finished 3rd and New Zealand finished 4th. These four finalists were decided even before the last day of the league stage was played on Saturday and only the final positions at the league stage were sorted on the last day. India will take on New Zealand in the first semifinals of the world cup. This match will take place at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester on Tuesday.

India Team Preparations

Indians registered their 7th victory of the league stage when beat Sri Lanka yesterday in their final league match to finish with a tally of 15 points. But they have to thank South Africa for beating Australia in their last match and thereby ensuring that Australia finishes 2nd and take on England in the second semifinal match. Rohit Sharma and K L Rahul hit centuries to ensure that India went past Sri Lanka in a breeze and finished at the top of the points tally. India qualified for the semifinals comprehensively and is the side to look out for. They have a formidable top order and an all-round bowling attack with the world’s best fast bowler in Jasprit Bumrah. They are a technically sound cricket team and they will definitely be looking to overpower the New Zealand team in the semis. Although they have solid opening batsmen, there is a strong middle over batting available as well and they are an excellent fielding unit with several good fielders including Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, and company. The Indian spinners are probably the best in the world with 3 world class bowlers in Jadeja, Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav to choose from. They are likely to play two of them and the Kiwis who are suspect against quality spin bowling might find them to be a handful.

New Zealand Team Preparations

New Zealand on the other hand after making a handsome start to their world cup campaign lost their way a bit in the later part of the tournament as they lost the last 2 games in the league stages. They managed to pip Pakistan to the post with the help of net run rate. They have their strong points though with a dangerous fast bowling attack and a middle order that is in good form. New Zealand always play competitive cricket and they can run India close and who knows might actually succeed in dislodging the favorites. They have some problems they need to sort out though such as Tim Southee’s inclusion didn’t work out and Lockie Ferguson might be recalled for this match. The main worry for the Kiwis will be the form of Martin Guptill. But he is a sort of a batsman who can come good on the big occasion and New Zealand will be hoping for that. Overall it is a good side and has proved it by reaching the knockout stage.

India is a confident batting unit and their better option will be chasing a set target. They have several great finishers in Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik. A perfect scenario for them will be winning the toss and bowling first. This will enable them to squeeze the Kiwi batting line and chase down an easy target later. For New Zealand, they will hope to bet first to put the runs on the board and try to restrict the opposition. But Indians have players for all conditions and it will be tough for the New Zealand cricket team to stop them. I will go to India for this match.

India, New Zealand.
