India vs. South Africa – South Africa tour of India, 2019, 1st T20I match – Cricket Betting Tips

September 13, 2019

India comes back home from a highly successful tour of West Indies to engage in an eagerly anticipated series against South Africa. The South African tour is getting underway on Sunday at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, India on September 15. Team India will be confident of taking on the struggling South Africans and they will be keen to get their campaign moving on a successful note. India has developed a solid team in both longer versions of the game but it has struggled to crack the shortest version yet. We have the T20I world cup next year in Australia and India must focus on finding the correct team for the event. They will try and use this series to groom different combinations for the world cup. After a disastrous world cup campaign, South Africa will be aiming to re-organize their team into a fighting unit. We can find many new faces in the team for the series against India. Terrible middle-order batting was the reason for the poor performance in the ODI world cup for South Africa and they will be keen to correct this aspect.

South Africa team preparations

Du Plessis has been rested for the series and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock will assume the role of the skipper as the team management considers the leadership options for the world cup. The key part for the Proteas, however, is that Kagiso Rabada needs to fire if South Africans are to have any hopes against the in-form Indians. The pace bowling unit will be supported by Anrich Nortje and Junior Dala. The lone spinner is expected to be Tabraiz Shamsi. Paceman Beuran Hendricks. The batting lineup will be buoyed by the inclusion of all-rounder Bjorn Fortuin. Apart from the skipper de Kock, South Africans will be looking towards Hendricks, van der Dussen and Bavuma to do the bulk of the scoring.

India team preparations

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are set to resume duties as Indian openers. It is expected that K L Rahul will bat at number 3. The inform batsman Shreyas Iyyer is likely to be included ahead of Manish Pandey who did not deliver in the Caribbean. Hardik Pandya will be included in the playing 11 immediately. The spinner’s slots are a toss-up between Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Raul Chahar, and Krunal Pandya. Jadeja and Krunal Pandya are more likely to be picked due to their batting capabilities. The pace attack will be manned by Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, and Navdeep Saini. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for this series and the bowling attack will depend on the newcomer Saini. But Indians will be depending on their formidable batting line-up comprising of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rushabh Pant.

You can expect a bouncy pitch at Dharamsala with the ball coming on to the bat nicely. It is a good pitch for batting and the team winning the toss will look to bat second. The highest total achieved at the venue is 200 runs by South Africa while chasing another big total set by India in 2015. At an average batting first 175 runs should be a decent total on this track. South African team comprises of many young faces and they are more likely to struggle in the Indian conditions. The powerful Indian team will start as favorites in this match.
